Strategies to improve memory and reduce depression

Neuroscientist Sandrine Thuret provides a TED talk (link here) advice on how we can help our brains better perform neurogenesis – improving mood, increasing memory formation and preventing the decline associated with aging.

According to Ms. Thuret, to increase the production of new formations within the hippocampus of your brain you should incorporate learning, sex, exercise, diet control including meal frequency and calorie intake

The following is said to decrease neurogenesis: stress, sleep deprivation, aging, alcohol, select foods soft in texture.
