Femto Photography: Capturing Photons at a Trillion Frames Per Second

Discussing the movement of photons is one thing, but capturing the movement of photons in slow motion with capable camera equipment is another thing entirely.  On July 26, 2012, MIT Associate Professor Ramesh Raskar delivered to the world a composite video showing the movement of photons from a short laser burst traveling in slow motion.  A fascinating video in its entirety, but if you’d like to start at the first demonstration I suggest skipping to the 2:00 minute mark.
