Acer recently released to the U.S. market the Aspire E 15 featuring 7th generation Intel Core CPUs.  Particular model tested is E5-575-33BM.  Of note, this model retails for only $350 USD.  A very good value.

Unfortunately, this particular Acer Aspire utilizes PWM flicker across a vast majority of it’s brightness range, as illustrated by the lines across the screen below.
